Time to Refocus! 04/11/2012
 
I've been restless lately. I've been trying to figure out what's been causing it and trying to figure out how to fix it. What I've figured out is I've not been taking enough time for myself. Not just quiet coffee time or time to relax, but no time to do anything for Me.

Long Time No See 04/04/2012
 
I can't believe how long it's been since I've been here. It seems that life has gotten in the way of writing about life.
We've settled into the new house - sort of. I still need to get pictures on the walls and the kitchen (more) organized but for the most part we're settled.
The girls are doing fantastic. They keep me running most days. But I love it .

Well, we're at it again. Moving. Ugh. I could really do without it but it's one of those necessary evils. When we first moved down to California for Doug's job we moved into my aunt's rental house. It's a great little house.  But it's a little house. Of course most things are for a family of our size...

I'm Back! 01/11/2012
 
Well, maybe "back" isn't exactly right. Back would mean that I was gone. I wasn't gone, I just wasn't here. And in all truthfulness that was really probably best. I wasn't in a good place. I wasn't in a good writing place.The blog posts in my head were depressing even to me and I just couldn't bring myself to put it all out there. Not in a vulnerability kind of way, but more of  a no-one-wants-to-read-this-shit kind of way. In a I-don't-even-want-to-type-this-shit kind of way!

I've come to realize that a daily blog update isn't going to happen. I would love to have that blog with the daily anecdotal bit that is funny and engaging with a weekly topic or a sometimes when-did-she-get-so-smart piece that makes everyone stop and think. But in reality I'm a mom with 5 kids, a part-time job and a full time household. I don't think I'm doing the people that read this thing any favors by trying to crank out posts that don't have any energy behind them.  I can't sit down and in five minutes rock out something that I'm happy with.  Well, not daily anyway.

Yesterday we spent the entire day at the high school working at the tournament hosted by Allie's marching band. I was at the school Friday until almost 11 and then we were back at 7am.  Doug, Allie, Jane and I finally made it home at about 11 again.  We were exhausted. Emotionally and physically exhausted.

Today Doug and I will be spending about 15 hours at Allie's high school helping out with the tournament the marching band is hosting.  We're expecting a busy day! Updates to follow.

Trying to Behave 11/04/2011
 
I got an update email from one of my favorite blogs, Money Saving Mom, about a great deal on a new ebook called Blogger Behave.  It's all about balancing your life and your blog and staying true to yourself without sacrificing the reason you started in the first place.  I'm not quite done with it but I really love what it has to say.  One of the first points was having a Vision Statement for your blog.  I'm working on that. And one day - hopefully soon- I'll have one of those tabs at the top that says Vision Statement. For now I just have to try to think about what that means.

Blog Vomit 11/03/2011
 
So this is the third post I've done today. I just have SO DAMN MUCH TO SAY!!! Honestly I'm trying to get a little caught up and have a few posts percolating in my head. I don't know how this works for other people that blog/write but this stuff piles up in my head.  It actually formulates kind of while it's happening.  I get an "Oh, I should put this on the blog" and then it goes from there. Kind of like some brainstorming chart from the fourth grade when they're trying to teach you how to write a story.
